Its been a while since Robin Van Persie declared his desire to not sign a new contract with Arsenal.But the saga of which club he is destined to doesn't seem to end.Manchester United,English champs Manchester City and the Serie A winners Juventus are the three leading horses in the race.
It has been confirmed that Emmanuel Adebayor who was loaned by Manchester City to Tottenham Hotspurs has been signed by Tottenham.So now City will be looking for a new striker and Mancini has been eyeing Van Persie since such a long time.
Juventus had been the favorites until now but after this transfer dealing Manchester City can be said as the new favorites to sign RVP.There is a plethora of ex-Arsenal players over there who can persuade him to join them over there.Plus Man City with their wealthy Sheikh owners can easily cope up with the price tag we put on RVP.Sir Alex on the other hand seems to be on a spending spree.They have already signed Kagawa and then English starlet Nick Powell defeating us in a bidding war and may even break the bank to sign RVP with Dimitar Berbatov almost certain for United exit.So its going to be really tough but i sincerely hope that we get a good amount for him and the saga gets over soon so that we can invest the money in acquiring proper replacements in time.And I hope our manager has a plan this time and the claim that Arsenal have already bought RVP's replacement in Oliver Giroud is false.With all due respect to Giroud I want to say that he is from Ligue 1 and will take time to adjust to the fast and competitive premier league.If the claim is to be believed then we only have podolski and chamakh as his replacements and if someone is injured then we are gone.It has been the story since 6-7 years.Lack of bench strength have cost us so many times and we have kept repeating the same mistakes.I hope its different this time around.Arsenal for life!!!
